I am Molly Stanton Landergan,
the founder of Telegraphic Tree. I am a herbalist, yoga teacher and artist making a home at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Lynchburg, Virginia. After living in Philadelphia for 15 years, I returned to my hometown in 2019.
In the process of integrating this change, I found an invitation to pause my public offerings. This created space for my practice to evolve and transform. In honoring that transition, I have learned new tools and crafted a new healing practice. As I embark on this new chapter, I'm excited to share my work with my community and look forward to the growth and connections it will bring.
I received my undergraduate degree in sociology from James Madison University and completed post baccalaureate work at the University of Pennsylvania where I studied photography, video, printmaking and installation art. These disciplines, the combination of science and art, proved foundational to my work as a practitioner.
My formal herbal medicine training began in 2011 with Susan Hess in her Homestead Herbalism program. It was through her classes that I became anchored on my path as an herbalist. In 2014, I completed a two year extensive training course in clinical herbalism at David Winston's Center for Herbal Studies. I spent an additional year in 2015 studying with David Winston in his Therapeutics program.
In 2022, I completed 300 hours of training and became a certified Kaiut Yoga teacher. Eager to deepen my understanding of the practice, I pursued further studies with Francisco Kaiut, completing an additional 340 hours of training in 2024.
Within my own healing journey,
I have taken an integrative approach combining a variety of complementary modalities including herbal medicine, acupuncture, mindfulness meditation, talk therapy, Western medicine, yoga, energy work, tarot, astrology and nature based spiritual practices. This work has expanded my perspective on health and reinforced my belief that medicine at its very best works holistically.
I love learning. I’m always seeking new perspectives to expand my knowledge and understanding. In addition to the programs listed above, these are some courses and teachers that have informed my life and work:
